Hello, my name is John and I'm starting my blogg today to talk about all the paranormal topics out there. So I thought I'd give you an introduction to myself first and then we'll get into all the cool stuff out there!
I think some of the paranormal subjects that we will talk about are just science that hasn't been officially proven yet. Science and the paranormal don't quite jive together so far because the paranormal doesn't fit into what science calls proof. I want to explore subjects like ghosts, angels, demons, cryptozoology, aliens, spirits, fairies and anything else that we think of. I've felt the presence of ghosts and have occasionally seen them ever since I was a kid. I grew up with my grandmothers at different times and they both believed in ghosts. They never discouraged me from talking about it. I think many kids experience things naturally; unfortunately "grown up life" doesn't embrace these things and natural sensitivity to subtle energies and entities goes away.
As I got older I just accepted ghosts as part of life that not everybody was able to readily experience. I was raised Christian so I started asking questions and was usually told something like, "that isn't what the bible says" or "that's not Christian". I've always believed in, and felt a higher power. It doesn't matter what a person calls it; whether it's God, Allah, Goddess, Gaia, Brahma or whatever. I say God but please feel free to say what ever you are comfortable with. So I thought that I need to find out more. I figured God gave humans intelligence so it is my duty to use this gift. I started reading about as much as I could find in the library, the book stores and any books I would find laying around other people's houses. My favorite way to get knowledge though was through meditation and prayer. I'm a slow reader because words on paper to me looked like a jumbled up mess of letters. When I read the same sentence a few time I get it. Reading has always been a chore but I would do it to learn. I read a lot of things that were considered occult. As a kid I thought that meant evil but it means hidden. I realized that it is not evil it is just knowledge. What you do with knowledge is what makes it good or bad. I am all about improving myself and mankind in general so I believe I am doing "good".
Once I became an adult around 17 years old, I got my GED, started working full time as a carpenter and worked on the crab boats as well. I wanted to go into the military and then get into law enforcement. One day something scary and sad happened. I am going to keep this part short because it deserves it's own full length description at some point. I was swimming with one of my close friends and he started to have trouble in the deeper water where we couldn't stand on the bottom. I tried to rescue him until I was so exhausted that I too sunk into the water. I don't know how exactly but I got to a point where I was able to get out of the water. I called for help to a family that was fishing close by. Shortly after that I heard the sound of sirens. I knew that people were on their way to save my friend. The place was swarmed with police and firefighters jumping in to find him. When they found him EMS started to work on him and took him to the hospital. All of those people came to the rescue at a moments notice. They didn't know us but they gave everything they had to try to save him. Something in me changed. I no longer wanted to be in the military where I may be called on to take someone's life. I wanted to be there for people the way all of those rescuers were there for me, and for Roger.
I joined the volunteer fire company in my home town and then realized that I could do even more if I became and EMT. I joined the local volunteer ambulance service as well. I eventually chose EMS as my career. I initially worked in a high volume EMS system in Wilmington, Delaware as well as a few other smaller stations in the area. I started to notice subtle things like when I was a kid. I started to feel people's energy in ways that I didn't before. I felt my energy trying to heal some of them. I could feel if someone was getting ready to die or if a person died suddenly or traumatically and their energy was still there. I could feel if a person was distressed not just in physical ways but mental and spiritually too. I knew that I was on the right track. I decided to become a paramedic because I could do more than if I continued as an EMT. I signed up for Medic school at Einstein Medical Center In Philadelphia PA.
When I finished medic school I started working as a medic in my home county. I have had a continuation of all the same interesting experiences as well as discovering that a few other people, mostly medics and EMTs, have had similar experiences. I want to bring to you, the readers, listeners and watchers, some of the stories from my childhood, my career in emergency services, other people's experiences, thoughts from reading, self study and more. I want to interview other people who have had similar experiences; and I want to hear from you. I am interested in learning about your thoughts and experiences so we can share with each other.
